Today it was a very exciting day for me. I gave a talk at Interaction16 in Helsinki, Finland. Interaction is one of the biggest conferences about interaction design so it was an honor to have been invited to present here.
While I was very nervous to be speaking at the main conference room, which has a capacity for 1.000 people -although the room was not full, the talk was very well received and I was very happy about the feedback received.
The title was was  “UX in 2018 – Designing experiences for a multi-platform, multi-device future”. An abstract of the content: in a multi-device world where people start a task in one device and finish it on another, creating an effective and seemingless experience across devices is key not just for the user, but for business results.
During the talk, I covered the 4 dimensions that designers and product owners need to get right in order to design a successful multi-screen experience.
Two of the things that seem to have resonated the most with the public were the Multi-device design manifesto and the framework for designing multi-device platforms.
Here’s the manifesto:
And here’s the framework:
If you want to understand the elements that make up each of the layers I suggest going through the presentation.
It was very exciting to share this framework with the conference attendees and I look forward to hearing your feedback as well.
I would like to thank all of those who contributed to making this presentation the great success it was :)
